Yes — Ireland is part of the European Union and the eurozone. If you're travelling on a plan from another EU country, roaming works the same as at home, but only up to your fair-use limit; after that, data slows down or starts costing extra. You buy it online, and once you land in Dublin, Cork, or Galway, your phone connects to the 3 network (4G) on its own. Your existing number stays active for calls and texts, while the eSIM handles data only. That means you're online from the minute you land — for maps, booking a ride from the airport, and letting people know you've arrived.

You switch an eSIM on before you fly and have data the moment you land — no hunting for a shop after a long flight.
